>> Sunday 13th March 2016 - The Dark Side Of The Wall Shows 2016 / Site Update and more news...

Dear One Floyders'!,

My apologies for not updating the website sooner.. it's good to be back.. 2015 brought some amazing shows for One Floyd, twice at the GPCA in Harlow and once at the gorgeously intimate Budworth Hall. Each show brought the best out in me as a performer, singer and player and all went without a hitch! Many thanks to all of you who helped, contributed and got involved in the show.. There was stacks of you waiting to buy a CD or take a signed poster at the end, which was both heart warming and encouraging..

2016.. and beyond...

Many of you have asked.. when is the next One Floyd show?! Well.. There are new shows being planned at this very minute.. But rather than play the same places all the time, I am looking for new venues and interesting locations to pay tribute to the legendary Pink Floyd with this show.. so please be somewhat patient with me whilst I get the shows organised.. Many of you have asked that I not change the setlist too much in order for people who have not yet seen the show to watch it again.. I will change the show slightly, but I plan to keep much of it intact for the foreseeable future..

Can I personally thank Steve and Nick Ashby from AMX Print in Harlow for their fantastic support providing the promotional material and gig posters.. and for all of you, who bought a ticket, clapped and cheered, and made One Floyd what it is today.. A reality!..

Stay tuned.. and I promise to be back shortly with new shows to announce for 2016!

Long live Pink Floyd!

You can order Steve's complete remake of "The Dark Side Of The Moon" now using the PayPal link on the MEDIA page.

Please keep checking the Gigs page both on here, and on Steve's official main website - www.steveforward.com. He plans to incorporate the DSOTM show initially into his regular classic rock solo shows until there is enough material to do two sets of purely Floyd..

This is an excellent opportunity for Steve to road test different ideas, and a great way for him to get his DSOTM show out as soon as possible!

>> Friday July 12th 2013 - Steve's Remake of Pink Floyd's Album - The Dark Side Of The Moon - Sample Clip and CD Release Date

Well this really is the start folks! - My long awaited remake of Dark Side Of The Moon (from hereon in known as DSOTM) will be available to buy on my guitar website - www.steveforward.com and on here on the media page shortly.. In the meantime, you can hear a sample teaser clip as a medley on the MEDIA page ..

The official release date will be next Friday, I'm also hoping to have all the backing tracks and lightshow done for then too, or the week after.. depending on my current work schedule.

Where possible, I plan to perform the complete album in full in the 1st set of my solo rock gigs, as I build up a new Pink Floyd number each week.. My goal is to have two 45 minute sets of nothing but Pink Floyd with a fully customised lightshow. This is NOT far away folks!

Please keep checking back as we plan to upload more clips, and CD purchasing links on this website, together with news on where you can see Steve perform Dark Side Of The Moon Live!!

As previously stated, My aim is to be playing ALL the MAIN guitar and vocal parts LIVE to the mixes of my recording of DSOTM... In the future I may possibly plan to take my MIDI keyboard out with me and using an iOS MIDI adaptor on one of my iPads Ill be playing the piano parts live.. This is just a thought at the moment, but I definitely will be taking out my Lap Steel to overdub parts live on Breathe and The Great Gig In The Sky. But for the moment where there are no guitar parts featured, I will play guitar lines similar to the lap steel parts, or piano riffs/chords.

As I'm keen to get the best possible sound and best performance each time, with the minimum of fuss, this is the only way to go at this present time, to record and remake the whole album in its entirety using the best musicians I could find, and mute the parts that I will be performing live. Hence the name, 'One Floyd' :)

The CD Release features the additional assistance of Ian Thompson (sax - Us and Them, Money), Sarah Louise Isom (backing vocals - Time, Brain Damage, Eclipse), Lucinda O'Connell (Lead Vocals - The Great Gig In The Sky), as well as the Midi assisstance of Adam Chinery (Any Colour You Like). Everything else, including the clock sound effects, explosions, synths, bass/drum programming, guitars, vocals, male vocal harmonies, and all the mixing and mastering was done by myself here at my Alive Studios entirely. *With the exception of using the "money" sound effects, which it seems every tribute act has done. However, I have also re-created the intro track "Speak To Me" using no parts from the original. The "Roger the hat" full interview, fully restored by EMI/Abbey Road, was available on my Pink Floyd DSOTM "Immersion" box set as an Easter Egg. So I was able to source all the parts myself that were integral to the album...

This is simply my way of paying tribute to one of the best rock albums ever made. I am in no way stating that my version is "better".. that is impossible, my version is simply that. MY interpretation. It will serve as a bedrock to enable me to perform the whole album LIVE as a solo performer. This means I will be able to play significantly more venues than using a full band.. at the moment!

SO.. over the next few weeks and months, you will find this website will change dramatically.. there are plans, once my DSOTM backing tracks are fully launched, to add the following tracks to my live set.. Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here, High Hopes, as well as my second project.. to add as many tracks as possible from "The Wall" such as In The Flesh, The Thin Ice, Another Brick In The Wall pt.1, Happiest Days, Another Brick In The Wall Pt.2 (complete with school choir!), Mother, Hey You, Comfortably Numb (Complete with full re-written orchestration!), and who knows what else...

Being able to play Pink Floyd's music like this, is an amazing opportunity for me, and I hope to see you all at a show really soon!.. Long live Floyd!

Steve x (One Floyd)

>> April 18th 2013 - RIP Storm / Site and DSOTM album news

It is with great sadness personally, that I saw on the BBC news website today that legendary Pink Floyd album art designer (amongst others!) Storm Thorgerson sadly passed on.. His iconic album artwork for 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Dark Side Of The Moon' will go down in history as the greatest album cover ever..

Dark Side Of The Moon - Tribute CD Album Update : I am in the process of still writing the backing tracks for Dark Side, and collating Sax players, and musicians such as backing vocalists etc.. to come and record on it... Stay tuned for further announcements..

It is my intention to first record a CD remake of DSOTM (from hereon it it shall be called) and then produce special mixes of the album to perform live against..

Should you wish to contribute to this album in any way, or know of someone who would be available to sing or play on it, I am still looking for the following musicians...

Lead Vocals - Great Gig In The Sky
Female Backing Vocals - Brain Damage/Eclipse

Many thanks, and don't forget, at my regular classic rock solo gigs I play Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In the Wall Pt.2 and 'Time' from Dark Side Of The Moon.. ALREADY!.. so get yourselves down to see me play!.. Take care.. and thanks for being patient!
